What’s New for Vendor Portal

Vendor Portal validated with Helm v4 release. With the official release of Helm v4, we added registry testing for Helm v4 and also validated that applications distributed through the Replicated Platform can be successfully installed by an end customer using Helm v4.

What’s New for Enterprise Portal

Added [.inline]kots.io/installer-only[.inline] annotation for excluding images from Helm CLI installation instructions. Vendors can now explicitly exclude certain images from the Helm CLI installation instructions displayed in the Enterprise Portal and the SBOMs generated for Helm CLI installations in the Enterprise Portal Security Center (Alpha). This annotation is useful for vendors who package their application to provide additional services when the user deploys with a Replicated installer like Embedded Cluster, but don’t want those services included when users deploy with the Helm CLI. Docs.

SAML Authorization Support for Enterprise Portal (Alpha). Vendors can now enable Enterprise Portal SAML authentication on a per-customer basis. This supports enterprise customers that want to integrate Enterprise Portal user access into their existing SSO login system. The Enterprise Portal SAML authentication feature is Alpha. To get access to this feature and provide feedback, reach out to your account representative. Docs.

Extended the Support Engineer policy and added a new RBAC resource for Enterprise Portal capabilities. Users with the default Support Engineer RBAC role can now view and invite end customers to the Enterprise Portal, and can use the Login to Enterprise Portal as customer option in the Vendor Portal. Docs. Additionally, a new [.inline]kots/app/*/enterprise-portal/customer-user/login[.inline] RBAC resource was added for the Login to Enterprise Portal as customer functionality. Docs.

Air gap records are now created automatically during installation. Air gap instance records are now created automatically as part of the air gap installation workflow in the Enterprise Portal. Previously, the air gap installation workflow included an optional Create an air gap record checkbox. Because it was optional to create an air gap record, air gap installation attempts were often not recorded as completed.

What’s New for Documentation

Documented the support request form fields. The Submit a Support Request page is updated with more details about each of the fields, and to expand on our recommendations for attaching support bundles to new and existing support issues. Docs.

Added more thorough overview of support bundles. The support bundle overview page is updated with more complete conceptual info: how support bundles are customized, generated by end customers, shared with vendors, uploaded to the vendor portal, inspected, and stored securely by Replicated. This is in response to feedback from Derek at Cohere where he was having a hard time finding all the info in the docs to share with his end customers who were asking him security-related questions about support bundle processes. Docs.

Improved Enterprise Portal documentation for end user tasks. The Enterprise Portal documentation on end user tasks (like logging in, doing a self-serve sign up, and using Enterprise Portal features) is updated for completeness and findability. Docs.
