At Replicated, we closely track happenings in the cloud native space given that we use cloud native technologies to deliver and manage software on-prem. (We like the on-prem term because it neatly sidesteps the tiresome on-premise vs. on-premises debate.)
We’re excited to announce that we’ve raised a 5M Series B of funding to accelerate our work of modernizing on-prem software for the Kubernetes era. We embarked on this journey at the end of 2014 to make on-prem software be less terrible and eventually help it become amazing.
Puppet announced our new partnership last week. Puppet’s Continuous Delivery for Puppet Enterprise (CD4PE), a cloud-native solution for scaling DevOps automation and practices throughout an organization, will use KOTS for scale and operationalization across complex customer environments.
Starting in KOTS 1.13.0, new support for packaging and distributing Kubernetes Operators has been introduced. Operators are a great way to make self-managing applications by automating day-to-day maintenance tasks that run in a “reconciliation loop” alongside the application.
KubeCon 2019 at the San Diego Convention Center, the home of Comic-Con, has managed to establish an even geekier form of cosplay. It’s called Kosplay… yes, with a K. Kosplay combines the age-old Comic-Con tradition of donning finely crafted superhero costumes with the Kubernetes community’s love of branded swag.
